CANDLE SAFETY AWARENESS
At waxwork studio we want you to stay safe when enjoying our candles. Please take a short while to read our safety guidelines.
NEVER leave a burning candle unattended. Where children are concerned, store candles out of reach and away from sources if ignition e.g matches, cigarette lighters etc. Dont leave children unattended in a room where candles are burning. Lit candles should be out of reach of young children, Educate children of the dangers! Keep lit candles well away from pets, make sure they can't brush against them, cats & dogs will burn just as well as a wax soaked wick! When burning candles on a window ledge ensure they are well away from curtains, use curtain tie backs if you have them and leave at least 1/2 metre (50cm) gap between the candle and curtains. DON'T use candles on the window ledge at all if you have those white net curtains. Care should be taken as to what surface you burn your candles on. Hot glass container candles and the run-off of some pillar candles can damage polished surfaces etc. You should always burn your candles on a suitable heat resistand coster / mat or candle holder, this will reduce fire risk. DON'T place candles directly in front of active gas and electric fireplaces, this results in total meltdown and is a fire risk. Use common sense when extinguishing candles, dont blow hard to put out container candles, this results in scalding hot molten wax flying everywere. If in doubt, please use a candle snuffer. Leave at least 3" between taper candles and multi - wick candles when lit.
Enjoy and stay safe!
